Jo Ann Hartley leads Jo Ann Hartley Interior Design with 21 years experience in Interior Architecture and Design. We focus on residential, small commercial and professional projects in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Jo Ann’s team is challenged in refining your style and presenting cohesive solutions so your project results are what you have envisioned. Creating clean and modern interiors that work hard for today’s families is in our DNA. And most importantly, we are committed to your satisfaction.

Jo Ann believes her past experiences in the business and beauty world, and her extensive art and design training, has enhanced her ability to make inspired and creative choices for her clients while maintaining careful attention to budgets and deadlines. In giving back to the community, Jo Ann has been honored to participate in 7 San Francisco Decorator Showcase homes which contributes to the scholarship funding for students of San Francisco University High School.

HOW WE WORK


1: Initial design program and requirements
We get to know you and how you want to live in your new space, We’ll discuss style ideas, colors and what you expect of your final outcome. If you have compiled photos and ideas before our first meeting, we will be delighted to review and discuss those items. An estimated budget for design hours will be provided prior to beginning your project plus you will receive a Letter of Agreement that calls out all of our terms so there are no grey areas. We believe in total transparency.

2: Design schemes and details
We will use your input and our ideas to construct “style” boards with colors, furnishings, finishes and fixtures to get us headed in the right direction. Sample floor plans and elevations are added in this step.

3: Documentation
When layouts are approved we put together a set of architectural drawings with finish schedules and tear sheets so that your contractor can provide comprehensive pricing for demo and re-construction.

4: Specification, Purchasing and Tracking
At this stage in the process, we finalize quotes for all items chosen, establish lead times and begin purchasing. We’ll arrange for the warehousing of all furnishings in preparation for delivery on install day.

5: Construction admin
Before the first hammer makes it way into your space, we will coordinate with your contractor a set up a time schedule. We will make regular visits to your job site to ensure all work is being constructed as to plan and if snafus emerge, we will be there with a solution. All the details like paint, wallpaper and soft furnishings and will be confirmed prior to step 6.

6: Furniture installation and styling
We’ll coordinate all furnishings to be delivered and supervise placement. If you need art and accessories supplied, we’ll be happy to accommodate!
